Welcome to Tarrytown

This affluent lakeside town offers beautiful views, sophisticated homes, and quiet parks

Located just west of downtown and the north-south corridor of MoPac, Tarrytown, one of central Austin’s most vibrant neighborhoods, is ripe with historic homes, offering an appealing blend of old and new.

Considered one of Austin's most prestigious areas, Tarrytown offers a contemporary art museum, a historic golf course, a spring-fed pool, and a 23-acre nature preserve with roaming peacocks. Lake Austin Boulevard is filled with great restaurants and bars, including some waterfront establishments.

Oak tree-canopied streets display a range of architectural styles, including many small, restored 1920s cottages, some large older homes, newly built mansions, apartment complexes, duplexes, and condos. Each situated in a quiet, inviting atmosphere, these upscale properties make Tarrytown one of Old Austin's most charming treasures.

Dining options abound in Tarrytown, ranging from casual to chic. Olive and June is an elegant yet casual multilevel space with a large terrace providing refined Italian fare and wine, and  Maudie’s has been an Austin Tex-Mex staple for decades. Many homes along the western portion of Tarrytown border Lake Austin, a segment of the Colorado River, allowing residents to enjoy fishing, boating, paddleboarding, and kayaking.

Many swimming pools and hike and bike trails are also located within local parks and recreational areas, including Reed Park, Triangle Park, West Enfield Park, and Mayfield Nature Preserve.
