Developed in the 1920s, Bouldin Creek is one of Austin’s oldest and most popular neighborhoods. This neighborhood is conveniently located near downtown and is filled with a variety of cafes, coffee shops, eclectic eateries, and historic homes.

Close to many parks and the natural scenery of Lady Bird Lake, the Barton Creek Greenbelt, and Zilker Park, this area is also recognized for its proximity to entertainment venues like the Long Center for the Performing Arts, the Palmer Events Center, and Butler Park’s Auditorium Shores.

Diverse, laid-back, and completely in touch with the “Keep Austin Weird” vibe, Bouldin Creek is filled with quirky shops and trendy eateries. A thriving food trailer scene occupies the community on a regular basis.

The restaurant scene is strong in Bouldin Creek. Swing by Bouldin Creek Cafe, which offers vegetarian fare, fresh coffee, and an award-winning veggie burger, or try Thai Fresh, which serves up healthy fare and cooking classes. Things to Do

The neighborhood boasts one of the city’s most recognizable landmarks: the Greetings From Austin mural. Inspired by a 1940s postcard, it’s been a popular photo opp for visitors and locals since it was first painted in 1998.

Two of the neighborhood’s best-hidden treasures are the West Bouldin Creek Greenbelt and East Bouldin Creek Greenbelt. Here you’ll find a one-mile trail loop that’s popular among hikers.
